Pet owners across the pond are just as indulgent as us urbanites. See Pets and the City UK, taking notice of their future designs, especially the Modernist coach. That'd fit right into a new South Lake Union condo. Also noting that even Lump didn't have it that modern.

Lump the Art Dog

The NY Times reports on Picasso's dog called Lump. Lump can be seen making a cameo 15 times in Picasso's Las Meninas series of paintings and thanks to American photographer David Douglas Duncan, we have a new "book of photographs taken in 1957 that show Lump as the top dog" of Art.

Pet Rent

The Mercury-News reports on "pet rent," a growing trend in the Bay Area and other parts of the country. I haven't heard of pet-specific rent in Seattle, but I wouldn't doubt it. The article states that owners are paying $35.00 a month and up. Are any of you paying pet rent now?

PugTherapy: Finding Happiness, One Pug at a Time, is a new book featuring Elvis, Bert, Buddah and Busta who are all photographed in Manhattan. Another book, I just noticed on Amazon.com is Urban Dog by Cis Frankel, Metrodog: The Essential Guide to Raising Your Dog in the City, and City Dog: New York City.

How Pets Party

Our doggy day care sent us this photo of the pets partying with doggie ice cream. My caption is, "lining up and knocking 'em back." (and the one there on the left that couldn't wait.)
